Delta Electronics Foundation is committed to supporting coral restoration and conservation research since 2020. Leveraging Delta Electronics' industrial automation technologies, the foundation works with researchers to establish efficient coral aqauculture systems, and support research projects and knowledge exchange internationally.
In Taiwan, Delta partnered with National Museum of Marine Science & Technology to establish the Chaojing Coral Conservation Center, which hosts more than 3,000 coral nubbins and consistently supplies the outplanting efforts. Partnering with National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium, Delta established a vertical coral farming system to support the research on cultivating coral heat-resilience.
Internationally, Delta partners with National Parks Board (NParks) in Singapore to establish a coral culture facility on St. John's Island, which is set to produce 10,000 coral nubbins per year to support NParks' 100K Corals Initiative ; In partnership with MOTE Marine Laboratory & Aquarium in Florida, Delta facilitates cutting-edge knowledge exchange on coral restoration techniques and research.
Delta is also developing collaborative projects with IUCN and University of California San Diego to support innovative science, data and methodologies.
Established in 1996, the Taiwanese Coral Reef Society (TCRS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and sustainable management of coral reef ecosystems in Taiwan. Our members include ocean enthusiasts, marine scientists, divers, and like-minded organizations who share a passion for preserving the ocean’s biodiversity.
At TCRS, our mission is to promote ecological balance in coral reef environments and advance scientific research. We conduct regular studies and field surveys to monitor the health of Taiwan’s coral reefs and advocate for environment and marine wildlife based on scientific evidence. Our findings and policy recommendations are shared with decision-makers and the general public to raise awareness and inspire action.
In living up to our mission, we actively organize ocean cleanups, ecological survey workshops, and community outreach programs. By bringing together civil society, as well as public and private sectors, we strive to build a united front to protect the beauty and resilience of Taiwan’s coral reefs for generations to come.
